Schier's Business Internship is designed for college freshmen and sophomores or recent high school graduates interested in learning more about business. This internship is not intended to narrow an already-chosen field of study, but to provide exposure to the major areas of business.
By rotating through multiple functions, business interns gain a clearer understanding of how businesses operate and where their own interests and strengths may fit in the future. The internship offers a hands-on, practical look at what business truly is—and what businesses “do.”
After completing the three month program, interns will know:
What a solid 40-hour workweek feels like
How to be professional and work on a team
The Five Components of every business and how each component interacts with the other
The importance of well-rounded learning—both business and professional learning as well as non-business learning and the humanities
Work Location: Headquarters, Shawnee, KS

Job Type: Full-time, In-person
Work a full, 40-hour week for 3 months
Participate in multiple department rotations
Complete assigned projects within established timelines
Maintain professionalism in a team environment
The right candidate is someone who has completed their freshman or sophomore year of college or a high school graduate (or equivalent) with some work experience and an interest in learning more about business. Interns are most successful when they are humble, punctual, eager to learn, and willing to follow instruction.
Must be comfortable reading material and writing reflections, with the ability to express their own thoughts and ideas
Must have basic interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office or Google Suite
