We are looking for a Staff Accountant to contribute to maintaining accurate financials within our Accounting department. This position will report directly to the Controller and plays a key role in helping the company concentrate on Accounting Lean initiatives.

A key part of the accounting team, the Staff Accountant will perform a variety of accounting functions and also look for ways to improve efficiencies and identify waste.
Ensures the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial data to be used in the planning and decision-making of our organization.
Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Learning and covering both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable positions, providing full support and suggesting ways to improve processes
File shipping claims and follow up to ensure receipt of refunds
Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Coordinate with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Performs duties with the utmost confidentiality
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Experience with Sage or other accounting software
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Docs
