Schier is looking to hire an intern to join our Design Engineering team here in Shawnee, KS for the summer. This role would work directly with our Design Engineering team doing R&D for new and exciting products as well as working on projects that improve and refine existing products in our current product offerings. The work will be a good mix of mechanical design in SolidWorks, hands on prototyping, and in house testing. The right candidate is a sophomore or junior level Mechanical Engineering/ Engineering Technology student who has good mechanical aptitude, is hands on, likes to explore and try new things, works hard, and thrives in a close knit team environment.
Must have an even keel, be typically upbeat, and be a self-starter.
Must be working towards a bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent job experience and have a high mechanical aptitude as shown through previous experience.
Must have above average interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.
Must be computer literate, and proficient in CAD (specifically SolidWorks).
Current Engineering or Engineering Technology student (preference given to Mechanical Engineering/ Engineering Technology students)
High mechanical aptitude
Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling software (or equivalent), CAM software, full Google apps suite: Docs, Sheets and Slides
Agile processes, ClickUp project management software, SolidWorks, HSMWorks CAM software for CNC Router.
This is a paid student internship.
