WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Schier is looking to hire an intern to join our Manufacturing Engineering team here in Shawnee, KS for the summer. This role would work directly with our Manufacturing Engineering team and our production team doing process development for new products, process refinement for existing product lines, fixture design and builds for all of our supported products, and general assembly support for our production team. The work will be a mix of mechanical design in SolidWorks, hands on tooling builds, and standard operating procedure development.

The right candidate is a sophomore or junior level Mechanical Engineering/ Engineering Technology/Industrial Engineering student who has good mechanical aptitude, is hands on, likes to explore and try new things, works hard, and thrives in a close knit team environment.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have an even keel, be typically upbeat, and be a self-starter.

  • Must be working towards a bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent job experience and have a high mechanical aptitude as shown through previous experience.

  • Must have above average interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.

  • Must be computer literate, and proficient in CAD (specifically SolidWorks).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Engineering or Engineering Technology student (preference given to Mechanical Engineering/ Engineering Technology students)

  • High mechanical aptitude

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling software (or equivalent), CAM software, full Google apps suite: Docs, Sheets and Slides

TOOLS USED

Agile processes, ClickUp project management software, SolidWorks, HSMWorks CAM software for CNC Router.
